An interim report is more than just a compilation of figures. It is one of the company’s most important communication tools and should convey both results and future prospects in a clear and professional manner. When Siljansvik contacted Rehngruppen , the goal was to produce a well-designed interim report that reflected the company’s visual identity, while also making the process of handling the financial information significantly easier.
The challenge was to combine high visual quality with an efficient reporting process. Tables, charts, and financial data needed to be updated without time-consuming manual work, while ensuring that the report maintained a consistent design from the first page to the last.
Financial reporting often involves many manual steps. Numbers need to be updated, tables need to be adjusted, and information needs to be transferred between Excel and Word. When changes are made close to the publication date, even minor adjustments can result in extensive follow-up work.
Siljansvik wanted to create a smarter way of working where the report's content could be easily updated without compromising on design or quality.
After a joint review of their needs and a demonstration of our reporting solution, the way forward became clear. By combining a professionally designed report template with automation, we were able to streamline the entire process. We developed a customized reporting solution based on Siljansvik’s visual identity and their preferences regarding the report’s design.
The solution consists of a formatted interim report in Word, an accompanying Excel template, and our Excel2Word tool, which makes it possible to update tables, charts, and financial information directly from Excel. Instead of manually copying and pasting data between programs, Siljansvik can now update the report’s financial content with just a few simple clicks.
We also worked on the report’s visual design and structure to create a cohesive whole, in which operational information, images, tables, and financial notes work together.
The result was a report that combines professional design with smart functionality. A solution that is simple to work with, easy to update, and built to be used in future reporting periods.
