A graphic identity shouldn’t just look good—it should work in practice. For CAN, we developed a cohesive and accessible identity with clear guidelines and tools for everything from Office and the web to print and digital meetings.
Automate your reportsLearn more about our Office templatesCAN already had a graphic identity from 2012 and a digital identity that was launched alongside can.se in 2020. Now, they wanted to combine these two elements into a modern, unified identity that works across all aspects of their communications—from digital channels and printed materials to templates in Microsoft 365.
The project involved more than just updating the visual design. The new brand identity needed to work in many different contexts, be easy to use within the organization, and at the same time meet high standards for accessibility. The existing typeface also needed to be reviewed to find an alternative that worked better for both text and numbers.

We developed new colors, typefaces, and illustrations and compiled the new identity into a digital graphic design manual. The previous typeface was replaced with a cloud-based typeface that is easy to install and use. Accessibility was a priority throughout the entire process, during which colors and contrasts, among other elements, were tested and adjusted.
The new identity was also incorporated into accessibility-optimized Office templates and chart templates featuring a distinct CAN style and high contrast. To create a consistent look even in digital meetings, we also developed new backgrounds for Teams.

The result was a cohesive visual identity that CAN can use across all its communications. With clear guidelines and ready-made templates, it becomes easier for employees to create materials that both adhere to the visual identity and take accessibility into account.
CAN now has a unified toolkit for everything from documents and presentations to charts, printed materials, and digital meetings—designed to make it easier to maintain consistent communication over time.
