During the breakfast seminar, we discussed how monthly reporting can be made both more efficient and more engaging by integrating Power BI and PowerPoint.
For many people, reporting still involves a lot of manual work: figures need to be updated, charts exported, and presentations adjusted whenever new data becomes available. We demonstrated how Power BI reports and visualizations can instead be embedded directly into PowerPoint and kept up to date without those manual steps in between.
This makes it possible to work with live data directly in the presentation, filter and navigate through the numbers, and answer follow-up questions on the spot. The same report can also be used in multiple places within Microsoft 365, such as in Teams and SharePoint.
In short: less time spent moving and formatting numbers, and more time spent analyzing and presenting them.
But what does that mean in practice?
- A Power BI Pro license that costs about 134 SEK per user per month.
- PowerPoint via Microsoft 365 – works in both the desktop app and the web version.
